Help with unlocking Iphone 3g

Hi guys So I am new here but I was aked by a friend to unlock his iphone 3g. I created the custom .ipsw file with pwnage tool for 4.2.1 with the ipad baseband update and everything started fine wit itunes but it seems to be stuck during the restore process at the very last bit. What can I do?

Did you uncheck "activate iPhone?"
