I have a MacBook Pro and a Mac Mini on the same network running an airport extreme dual band.
I have an alias on my MacBook Pro to an external drive that is on my mac mini. Intermittently, when I click on that alias, it takes forever for finder to load the folder and show me the contents of that disk.
I believe it is because my MacBook Pro is trying to use my mobileme address to connect to the mini and I don't have any clue why that would be as I do not have Back to My Mac turned on for either unit or in my airport extreme settings.
If i choose Mac Mini from my shared places on the left of a finder window, hit "connect as..." then enter my user/password for the mini, everything is lightning fast.
I dont see any saved password in my keychains that would make it choose to connect with that mobileme username, but I do see "com.apple.system.defaultsharingidentity" and "*********@me.com SharedServices" (* is me hiding my address from you) and both of those involve sharing and my mobileme address. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it.
Any suggestions on how to square this?
