Try this

Select Safari. Enable the "Develop" option (just check the box in Preferences -> Advanced). Then in the new "Develop" menu, select "User Agent -> Internet Explorer.

Should work, makes the site think your using I.E.

Um, no it isn't. You can already do that with VMWare, Parallels or with Microsoft RDP client. In fact, unless it were just for testing my development sites (with test data), there's NO WAY I'd use this service because how do I know I can trust you? (Are you associated with this project, out of interest?)

Microsoft do not support or develop IE for Mac anymore, and it's unlikely they'll ever bring it back.

And your point being? Why are you in an Internet forum if you can't trust anyone? And no, I'm not part of that project, just linked it if someone is interested

One major issue, no matter what.. if the site that requires IE needs to use ActiveX, it's never going to work in the Mac (OS X) environment.

If you happen to have a copy of OSX 10.4 sitting around I am pretty sure it will run in that. I remember when I first got my first Mac in '06 and coming from Windows that Internet Explorer was the one and only way to access the web. Oh I am glad that those days are long behind me.

Wish I had more solutions to offer, and good luck finding a work around.

Exactly.

I don't know why people will not design across multiple platforms. It's not that hard.

Heh?
Safari was released in 2003, Opera was even available for System 7.5 and later, even Firefox was able to run on Mac OS X 10.1.

Or do you mean something else?

I believe he meant that coming from Windows, he thought that IE was the only way to access the web.

Ah, okay. Strange though, as they were many browser for Windows too. I think my first browser on Windows 4.00 was Netscape and I didn't learn about IE a lot later, I even used Mosaic before that.

Usually I've found if a site rejects Safari it'll work with Firefox on the Mac.

Your right there were many more browsers but at that time I was not very computer savvy at all.

Understandable, I was just talking about my experience, though I have been using computers since the beginning of the 90s, and I almost always forgot about the age of other users on boards like these.

Many thanks,

That seemed to do the trick, although very slow???

Thanx

Coming from a web developer's standpoint... I really don't like Internet Explorer.
