hi how can i get push notifications to work on my unlocked and jailbroken iphone 3g?

or 3gs if it makes a big difference because i really don't know my cousin ordered a used one for me and jailbroke and unlocked it himself with ultrasn0w . how can i check what version or iOS it is? i see all these people say ios version yadda yadda. what is it? thanks

the best way to get push working is to not hacktivate it and borrow someones official carriers SIM card and activate it.

Find an AT&T sim. Even old inactive or prepaid go phone sims will do. Buy one on eBay for $1-2 or so.

That will do the trick but you have to restore and jb it again.
