iphone 3g no wifi

My iphone 3g 4.2.1 5.15.01 baseband wifi does not work
no wireless networks come up when there definitely should be
I have a Wifi address however
ive gone through all trouble shooting from apple support and none of it has work
im thinking about resorting to reflowing the pcb in the oven
any suggestions??
