Any ideas how the prices of apple products sold in the UK will be affected by next years VAT increase?

I'm thinking of buying a MBP 15" now or when the refresh comes. I have an early 2008 MB atm and it works fine but if the VAT increase is going to increase prices, I'd prefer to get one now using the HE discount.

I've just recently purchased one because of this very reason. The cost of the product will go up that is for sure. An additional 2.5% on its current cost isn't good news. I did manage to blag £108 off the £1499 MPB in currys/pc world but if you go on Dixons sites they have over £200 quid off. Not sure it that would be better than HE discount.

The HE (university) discount will give you a little over £200 discount on the base 15" and will also give you a 3 year warranty (and something like 3 months phone support). Also don't buy any Apple pre-installed software as its way cheaper to purchase them separately with the HE discount.

thats a good discount and with the 3 year warrenty you cannot arguee.

I intend to buy from Apple as I want the Hi-res screen.
