For some reason iphoto 11 doesn't like my RAW files from my D7000 Nikon. Anyone have a idea how to fix this? It says unrecognized format when I try to import them.

It's a matter of time. Camera Raw was updated few days ago to support D7000, so I guess Iphoto is next.

What about iphoto 09. is there an update on the way. it cant read my nef files from D7000.

Bo

Unless the latest OS-wide Digital Camera Camera RAW Compatibility update added it (the one that works for Aperture 3/iPhoto 11) then no. This should not be a surprise: Apple have frequently limited RAW support updates to the latest versions of iPhoto/Aperture.

OK, I just discovered '09 isn't going to cut it.

Can anyone recommend the highest settings for the d7000 that WILL work with iPhoto till one finds software to handle the raw??

Exactly. It's called upgrade your iphoto.

Can I say you sound just a tad snarky?

Updating iPhoto requires running Snow Leopard, so people using Leopard must pay to update their OS and buy iLife 11. But my problem is, Snow Leopard doesn't play nice with older connected hardware I use, so I am stuck with Leopard and iPhoto 09 for awhile.

A strange thing is, iPhoto displays preview images of all the NEF files on the D7000 card fine, it just errors when importing them into my iPhoto library.

UPDATE: now I feel dumb, I see that a Snow Leopard update probably fixes the problem for everyone using that OS, even with the previous version of iPhoto. I'm still out in the cold, being on Leopard. So, Nizmoz, guess the proper (perhaps snarky) comment I deserve is "It's called upgrade your OS."
