Vertex 2e firmware flashing on mbp?

It seems that going by the OCZ site the drive can only be reflashed with the latest firmware from a windows based machine. Is that correct?

Haven't plugged it in yet but I hope mine comes with v1.24...

i got mine about 3 weeks ago and it came with 1.24
