Users of Apple's MobileMe service should be aware that the service will be undergoing maintenance later today, with MobileMe account maintenance scheduled to take place from 10:00-11:00 PM Pacific time tonight, while maintenance on MobileMe syncing services is set for 10:00 PM until midnight.
Due to scheduled maintenance, some MobileMe members may be unable to sync between their computers, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch or view their contacts and calendars at me.com. Normal service is expected to be restored at the end of the maintenance window. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Scheduled maintenance windows on MobileMe are not unusual and typically result in no visible changes for users, although they are occasionally accompanied by the rolling out of new features and visual tweaks.

I won't be able to sync for a couple of hours? Woe is mobileme!

As I do near the end of each year I was working on bringing my calendars up to date, adding events I know are coming next year, and getting everything synced. I'll have to take a break when Apple needs a turn with the service.

This is really retarded. My google mail and syncing has NEVER gone down. Considering how bad mobileMe has been, this is just even more ridiculous.

I would kill for scheduled maintenance windows.

I have a massive network change to make at work in January. I'm going to end up spending nearly 100k on stuff that I can do at the same time since everything has to come down during that change. I might have to wait another year to get scheduled downtime for upgrades and such.

My stuff is critical national infrastructure. MobileMe, not so much. But Apple's got a few more bucks for doing it right than we do. Apple *could* do this in another manner if they had to worry about their customers leaving for another service. But since that's not going to happen, I guess we're lucky they at least tell us.

Ignorance is truly bliss.

Google rarely admits to having a problem. And when they do, its one doozie of an issue!

I'm not sure of your point.... I was responding to someone who made sweeping statement based of their own personal experience, with my experience that was different than theirs. I also didn't make a big thing of it....

Now it's gonna be fine soon after the maintenance

Finally, fine with the MobileMe that they had announce the maintenance schedule. Because two weeks from now it's a Christmas vacation and most of the people around the world busy communicating with their love ones.

MobileMe Maintenance Scheduled for Later Today

Stop b*tching ladies, like you syncing your contacts at 3 am on Wed morning. Plus, if you noticed, they gave 30 days of me.com services for free.

Anyone else notice that the MoblieMe news link below the username/password fields on me.com now takes you to a simplified Chinese version that gives the latest news as October 29's "Lorem Ipsum" item? Clicking Lorem Ipsum tries to take you to a non existent MT Blog (I think).

hehe nice spot. apple fail. Wonder if this means they're drafting a new features document at the moment.

Coming from North Carolina

Yeah, I know, my voicemail comes in with a southern accent now :D

I've been happy with MobileMe, except each time I make any changes to anything (iPhone or my computer) my default email @mac.com keeps switching to @me.com - never liked it.

I like the seemless sinc between my phone, computer and online, love the ample storage for four of my websites, $150 family plan seems not that expensive after all. Of course, I'd love mobileme to cost $0 :p

Hmmm... I missed this announcement the other day and wondered why iCal couldn't remember my login information. Now I know why.

I wonder what new and "exciting" or "magical" things we'll see in MM in 2011.

Apple doesn't seem to have any trouble in sending me promotional e-mailings. So why can't it send me an e-mail warning me about a pending interruption of service?
