So I use my iphone in my car via auxiliary input. To get any sort of decent volume, I need to run the volume on the iphone to the max and then play with the head unit volume

I also use my iphone as an ipod. When I have headphones one, I naturally reduce the volume from max to maybe a third of the bar. HOWEVER, even when I do this, I get a brief blast at the max volume before it seems to recognize this new volume setting of a third or whatever I set it at

Any idea on why this happens? It is annoying as to avoid it, I have to play music for a sec before putting my earbuds in at this new volume level rather than, what I feel should happen, be able to change the volume before playback, put earbuds in and start music and not have to worry about blowing my ears for a brief second

Has anyone else come across this?
