Finally starting the war w/ AppleCare concerning my overheating Rev. A MBA.
Took it into the Genius Bar a few months back, and the genius blamed it on iStat Menus. Said I had too many programs running at once. Ha. Didn't even bother arguing.
About 10 days ago, my hard drive started making the 'clicking noise of death', so I took it in, and had them replace the hinge while I was there. This genius seemed sympathetic to my kernel_task issue, and said they'd replace the logic board.
I went and picked it back up 3 days later, and they replaced the hinge, the bezel, the antennas, and the hard drive. Didn't touch the logic board.
I think it's actually worse since it came back. The fan revs up to full speed and stays there on the log-in screen. So today I called and complained, and it's going back again next week. I'll keep this updated, but I don't have my fingers crossed.
