Earlier this month, MR reported that Apple was offering Refurbished iPad WiFi models at a discount of $70 (16GB) or $100 (32/64GB). They have apparently run out of stock on the WiFi models, but are now offering the WiFi+3G models at a discounts of $50.

I just ordered a 16gb wifi for the wife on Saturday. I wonder if they ran out after or before I ordered and will not get the order.

If there was no stock, your order would not have gone through.

The casings are brand new just the internal is refurbished? I know that about the iPhone. Thanks. I need to order one for my daughter. I was thinking about waiting for the iPad 2 but don't need the USB, camera, facetime, etc, since it's for a 7 year old.

the 3g versions are not really new. they were available the same time as the wifi version. at least when i looked. because i was like that kinda sucks the 3g version only gets 50 off instead of the 100.

im all for saving money but for 50 bucks id just get new

6 - 7%? Not great. But this is impressive. Few other companies can offer refurbished merchandise at 93 - 94% of regular retail price.

Apple refurbished products are of very high quality. If anything, a refurbished Apple product is less likely to have defects or issues than a brand new one since it's been through much more testing.

I'm not sure about on iPads, but on their computers the cases and batteries on refurbished models are brand new.

I can attest to that. My refurb iMac looked like brand new. I was very pleased with my purchased and saved $300.

Whilst I know you probably did not mean it this way, that's a terrible thing to say about any company.

Their second hand used models should be better than their new ones.

I don't think Apple will be using that on their web site :D
