About a month ago I started getting some weird things going on in Mac mail, although I made no changes at all.

-Mail asks for my password sometimes when sending, then won't take it.

-Shows incoming mail being DL'd but then nothing shows up.
-Most frustrating is when sending anything with some size, like some photos or such, the outgoing speed at the bottom left goes fast, then slower, then crawling, then stops. Then it asks what server I'd like to use.

I tried deleting my account in Mail and adding it again but it's still doing it.

Any ideas? I went into Gmail account Prefs on the web and all looks fine.
The strange thing is, it's random, sometimes it's fine.

Thanks!

I sometimes have the problem with it asking for my password and then not accepting it. What I've found is that this means I'm having internet access issues. It's not Gmail at all, it's my internet. Usually, it clears up within seconds. So, basically, I just ignore it and try again.
