How to delete an item from "downloads" folder?

Is there a way to delete an item from my downloads folder that is in my dock without dragging it to the trash? Is there a way to get a context menu on items in the downloads folder?
 
You could right click it and select move to trash, unless you are trying to avoid the trash altogether, in which case, i'm not sure how to do that
