Recovered Files in Trash

Whenever I start up or restart my MBP, it always has a "Recovered File" in the trash can.

Anyone know why and how to keep this from happening? Is this normal?

Have you tried repairing permissions in Disk Utility and verifying the Disk?

Uh, no.

Sorry, this is the first Mac I have ever had. I have always worked on and built PC's.

Can you explain the process?

That is interesting. I wonder why it just doesn't delete them all together.

Open disc utility in Applications>Utilities.

Select your boot drive on the left on the screen. Should be the one at the top in most cases.

click on repair permissions on the bottom of the window. Then click on verify disc.
