I feel like venting somewhere (other than with the family).

Just got my offer for my first job out of school. I've interned with multiple companies since I've been in school, but this will be my first real gig.

I studied Industrial Engineering, and I'm taking on a Product Management role with a tech company in the Bay Area!

Very exciting news! Yes, this is a tough time to find work, so pat yourself on the back.

Best of luck to you, and I hope you enjoy your new career!

I have a new job starting...sometime soon. Probably late Jan. I have to wait on the clearance paperwork to go through. It sucks waiting that long though. The good news is it is a decent raise. The bad news is it's 3 hours away. This will be my third move in 5 years. At least I will be two blocks from the beach this time.

Congrats to you. I've been in the job market since April, so I know full well how tough it is to find a job these days. Good luck.

Congrats. It's extremely tough out there and I'm still working on finding the "right" job.

I had to go in with a buddy on a business venture about 6 months after I graduated, because I hadn't found any semblance of a full-time job available, not even interviews.

Since then, August of 09, I've only had 3 interviews, so consider yourself very lucky to get this opportunity and definitely make the best of it.

Enjoy the Bay Area!

Way to go! It's a crappy job market relative to a few years ago. I'm always looking at moving from the public to private sector, but only if the job really stands out and is me which thus far I have not found.

Oh, you're the guy who got the job.

I hear that next year American business might actually create two jobs. :D

Thanks guys!

I'm really excited. I'll have the summer off, and plan on doing some traveling. Spend all my money, then start work and make some of it back!

When do you start? That sounds like a great gig!

I got laid off 2 weeks before Christmas so im in the market as well......

Prob not so hard to find work in my area of expertise tho :)

I was laid off 18 months ago and still haven't found any stable work.

Designing home theaters, performing acoustic calibration and designing home automation systems are skills I just can't sell right now.
