My macbook has been overheating and freezing for several months now. I bought a cooling fan to put it on which has helped. What is the best fan replacement brand and how difficult is it to instal?

What are the temperatures? It may not be because of overheating, maybe bad RAM or HD, or a software glitch.

First off, why is it overheating?

What are your CPU temps like?
What is the ambient room temp?
Do you have a laptop cooler?
Is there ample air space and flow at the back of the laptop?
Are you doing a lot of CPU intensive tasks?
Are you using ClickToFlash?

Let's try and pinpoint why it's overheating before you open it up.

i am using flashblock, have a laptop cooler, and ample air. Im pretty sure there is a problem with my logic board but it only acts up when the comp is too hot. I am just trying to get it last a few more months until i upgrade to a mba and was trying to see if replacing the fan would be a good solution for this.
