Apple mail formats gmail conversations weirdly

I use apple mail to read and send my emails. But sometimes I need use gmail to check the mail and I notice that my sent and replied mails(conversations) appear as though I have sent multiple incomplete mails. They all just contain fragments of my real message with it getting longer until it completes in the final reply. So, from my view it seems as though I've sent say 10 replies to one message when really this is not the case.

Those are automatically saved drafts.
 
Yes, change the settings to not save drafts on the server, and you won't see that problem. Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts -> Mailbox Behaviors -> Uncheck "Store draft messages on server".

I had the same issue, that fixed it for me.
