redsn0w crashes trying to JB 3g 4.2.1

hello

just wondering if someone could help me.

I have a 3g and using the iclarified guide can get redsn0w to start the process of JBing my phone. But halfway through redsn0w unexpectedly quits and i have to turn my phone off/on.

Nothing appears to happen to the phone. Just wondering why this isn't working

im running OS 10.5.8/4.2.1(8C148)/05.15.04/0.9.6b5

I just want to JB - i dont want to unlock.

Any help would be appreciated

I had similar problems and restoring as new (don't restore the backup) did the trick.

Also found other advice to run as administrator or in XP compatibility mode or set affinity to 1 but I don't think those did much for anyone.
