Avoiding the Data Plan from AT&T?

Hello, I recently bought a used iPhone 3g and I'm with at&t. I've been "caught" 4-5 times already. Is there a way to prevent them from noticing that I have a iPhone? For financial reasons I cannot pay for the data plan...

I heard using SbSettings to shut off 3g and data works but can anyone confirm?

Last question, does sending mms(picture, vids, etc) send a red flag to at&t? As in it allows them to know that I have an iPhone?

No, there isn't a way. Your contract says that if you have an iPhone, they will add the plan ... I'd suggest getting a different phone until you can afford the data plan.
