Does the whole movie download instead of steam so you can view it when not connected to wifi? And if so how much space do you need to have on your ipad for an hd movie rental?

Question about movie rentals from itunes

To rent movies you would hav to download the whole film before you can start viewing and you need enough space to store the downloaded file as they don't stream. You can view it without being on wifi as well once it's downloaded
I checked various mofies and nowhere on the itunes page of each film does it show the size of the file.
Also is it possiblento rent one movie for 48 hrs instead of 24 by psying double upfront say like if ur going out of country for few days and wont have internet or something.

The rental is available for 30 days, but expires 24 hours from when you start watching it. If you aren't going to start watching it before your trip, you should be fine.
