Wireless Router Speed & ATV

Hello,

I just got my parents an apple tv and some of the items are loading slowly. Also, when the ATV is downloading a trailer, etc. all other computers (3) in the house lose internet connectivity. They currently have a linksys wireless-n router. Would the purchase of a dual-band wireless-g router help this problem? Or is there something else at fault?
