trying to change permission to read and write...help please!

Try doing it from terminal:
chown -R "username":staff
chmod -R 755 path/to/Video_TS
Obviously username would be your username and for /path/to/Video_TS you can literally just type in "chmod -R 755 " and then drag/drop the Video_TS folder into the Terminal window.
Also, just to be sure, these are ripped Video_TS folders right?
