I'm sure this gets asked once a day, but I can't seem to find my exact situation anywhere. I want to sell my unlocked 3G, but it is on the iPad baseband, so I can't just to a restore to wipe all of my info off of it. What steps do I need to take to fix it? It's on 4.2.1 with BB 6.15, used redsn0w. Any help is appreciated!

put int into DFU mode and restore it to customs 4.2.1 firmware. You will then wipe everything off it.
If you have PC, use sn0wbreeze to cook this customs firmware. Otherwise, use Pwnage tool cook at 4.2.1 fw.
If you want, you can restore it to Apple 3.1.3 official firmware as well. However, at the end of restore progress, you will get a 1015 error. Just just TU to exit recover and you will have 3.1.3 fw iphone 3G with baseband 06.15.

If your 3G has an old bootrom (v5.8), you can downgrade your baseband with the Cyfia app "Fuzzyband". This will get your GPS acurate again and battery drain minimized.

The bootrom you need is 5.08 not 5.8.
Hope you inform the purchaser about the ipad baseband and their forever messed up situation of having to restore using a custom firmware. I can just see someone who doesn't have any computer sense at all calling you now and then so they can restore.
