My Macbook Pro 2007-2008 (silver) 17" was printing fine (Canon D420) until yesterday. Now every time I try to print the printer goes to pause, I unpause it, then try to resume and I get the error message that it doesn't recognize the printer. When I hit "utility" it says "status message 2" in the box and "status message 1" outside the box to the left. There is no sign of anything being wrong with the printer - it printed a test page fine. I've restarted the printer a few times, pressed clear, and replugged the usb cable. I tried using the usb port on the other side of the macbook pro and tried another, newer usb cable as well. no success. The only things that have been different recently is that I did the free MacKeeper install and let it do some kind of cleaning on the computer. This application did a partial "cleaning" then told me I had to pay for more, which I didn't want to do. Could that be causing the problem? I also changed the toner, but no sign the printer isn't working. help?:apple:
