Hi,

I've just been sat here and after having my Macbook for about 8 months I have just heard a noise I have never heard before.

I have found the noise is called 'Glass' in system preferences.

I had the applications Mail, Safari, Word 2011 running.

It's not mail as I checked all sounds and that is not one of them.

Anyone got any ideas why it would randomly chime?

Word autosave?

I don't think it is. I have tried checking and the only setting I can see related is Feedback with sound and it is unticked.

Could it be software update? I have just checked and I have software that needs updating.
