I recently salvaged a Radeon 8500 from a dead PC and think it'd be a good (i.e., free) upgrade for my Power Mac G4/466 (Digital Audio.) I've seen articles on how to flash the ROM on systems that boot into Mac OS 9.2. (They link to a ROM file that seems to have been removed from the ATI/AMD website.) There are also methods that require a PC with bootable floppy and a PCI video card. What I'm trying to figure out is if Tiger requires the ROM to be flashed for the Radeon 8500, and if there's a way to do it from Tiger instead of the PC setup.
