Recently my mac, running Lion OSX started running real slow and started crashing. Soon after a white screen would come up with the apple logo, loading symbol and a loading bar (everytime it went to full it would just turn itself off). Windows 7 which i ran on bootcamp worked perfectly fine and i could access the files on the Mac HD through windows and backed up most of my important documents.
I read up on some other forums to just do a clean install of lion after reformatting the Mac HD which was now "EFI Boot" which i did. Then after downloading lion for 4 hours when (through disk utility option) the laptop turned itself off and now the only two HD's left are Bootcamp and Recovery HD so the new reformtted Mac HD doesn't exist.
Surely this isn't a hardware failure if the harddrive can run Windows on Bootcamp still. I've also registered the mac under applecare. Is there any fix without sending the laptop in or would it need repair?
Thanks
