iPhone 4 won't connect to iTunes.

All of a sudden I went to charge my iPhone and hook it up to my Mac and nothing happened. Usually I get the little ping sound that I always get when I go to charge it and it did absolutely nothing. It's not showing any signs of damage to it. It still functions fine. Do I need to reset it? Do I need to restart my computer. I've already restarted iTunes and that did nothing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Is the dock connector working properly? If you have a case on the phone or something you might not get it plugged in all the way. If that's not the problem I'd start by restarting the computer and the phone.
