When you order the iphone 4s or after ATT or w/e provider orders it, where does the phone ship from?

Does it come directly from China if the store doesn't have it?

How can you authenticate it? for fears of fakes.

My phone ordered from AT&T shipped from Fort Worth.

:confused::confused: If you buy from Apple or an authorized carrier, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Craigslist or eBay might be another story.

All iPhone's are manufactored in China.

AT&T recieves their shipment from China and are stored in a warehouse in Forth Worth, Texas.

Same goes for Apple, each retail store receives the shipment from China every day except Sundays.

If you are buying from AT&T, it will not be fake at all. So no need to worry.

They only way to tell that the iphone is authentic is to type in the Serial Number on the apple site: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do

This will tell you your warranty status. A fake iphone would probably not show up there.

My main 4S came directly from China (launch day phone ordered from Apple).

And if it accepts official iOS firmware, it's authentic. If there's a company that's skilled enough to reverse engineer the device to such an extent that it works 100% with Apple's software and implements the RSA security properly, then that company is probably skilled enough to make a phone much better than the iPhone.

Guess you user name doesn't really reflect your true feelings.

If bought from an authorized retailer you have nothing to worry about. Silly issue to worry about.

If you buy an iPhone 4S from Apple and it's "tested" fake, than how is it still a fake?

If Apple makes it and sells it to you, and it's different from everything else out there, it still means you have the real deal.
