I've had my Verizon iPhone 4S for about a month now. Today I wanted to see what the SIM card looked like (since I've never had a phone with a SIM card), so I took it out for a minute or two, then put it back in. However, I just noticed that now in my settings app, there's a "Personal Hotspot" tab on the front page, where Wifi/Notifications/etc are.

I know what Personal Hotspot does and all, and I also know that if I use it, that I'd get charged $20 a month. And out of stupidity I turned it on for a half a second or whatever to see if it really would turn on. I didn't use data or anything. So my question is will I get charged $20 a month now for it? Because I really don't want it.

Call your service provider and ask them if you have Personal HotSpot enabled on your account, if you do then have them disable it.
