Webcam image flicker when using skype and facetime

Recently I have been noticing that the image would flicker sporadically on my macbook air when using facetime and skype video this started happening every since I upgraded to lion 10.7.2. Not sure if its a software issue or hardware issue so I'm wondering if anyone else hase been experiencing the same thing.

Mine does that too. What is causing this flicker?
