So I've had my macbook pro for about 3-4 years now, and it is starting to run slow I want to reset it to factory settings and wipe everything? How do I do this? It never came with recovery disks?
Contact Apple for Replacement Restore DVDs (which includes iLife) or buy the 29 USD Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Upgrade DVD (which excludes iLife) and either do a Erase and Install (10.5) or do a Clean Install (10.6).
But maybe adding more RAM might alleviate the slowness.
You mean "Snow Leopard"? You already have "Leopard" (10.5).
10.6 is more streamlined and a bit more compact, other than that, there is no real advantage for the average user already having Leopard.
