iCal works extremely slow since upgrade to Lion

Does anyone have any idea why iCal runs so slow?

Sometimes it takes a couple of minutes before I can edit a new activity or task. Frustrating! :mad:

When quitting it, I also get that rainbouw icon.

I've always used and relied on iCal and it's very disturbing this way.
