I know there's already threads about this.. don't wanna bump them. How do you use your iPad mostly?

The most sensible way for what I'm doing, perhaps? Does this really need to come up again?

What's next, "what color shirt do you wear while using your iPad?"

If you know there are already threads, why start a new one? Further, what does it matter how I use my iPad? I don't mean to be mean - but these seems like a thread without a use.

The poster is practically begging you to be mean. This is a completely useless thread.

I think I can help you:

1. This is very common and boring thread. Ask yourself can you think of laptop/desktop in portrait mode? Certainly not ! Got your answer right ?:D

2. However, in some circumstances, portrait mode is useful, for example, some magazines (let's say in zinio) have two-page view which turn into one page in portrait mode with large fonts. But in most cases (for example, web surfing), the fonts become smaller- so portrait mode is cumbersome there!

3. Some games are always in portrait mode - bowling, hockey etc.

Just to let you know,

Many other similar surveys on a variety of forums have always come up with the same answer.

Landspace mostly.

It's natural really, human eyes are made for a landscape view, and it's more natural to look at an image that's wider than it is taller.

We do it in RL ever moment we are awake.

Portrait 95% of the time. I work a lot with pdfs and that's their natural orientation.

I agree with this.

about 80% in portrait because pdf, magazine, flipboard, instapaper and note apps look better.
Another important thing is portrait mode feel comfortable to hold, landscape really awkward.

Also I thing website work great with portrait mode, the article content just take 1/2 to 2/3 horizontal space of a website so it fit in portrait better than landscape. Except for forum view (like this forum) I use landscape mode because I need to see both post content and id name :D

I agree with you. But if you use case, you have to mostly use landscape mode unless you buy one with rotating feature and this is helpful when you want to avoid holding - especially when you use your iPad for long.

Unless it's a game or movie that works better with landscape, I'm mostly in Portrait mode. More comfy that way, too.
