Hello

I have a Late 2009 Macbook it has cracks on the hinges as pictured.

I took it to Apple yesterday they said the Mac was out of warranty and instead wanted to charge me 200 pounds to fix it. I bought this Mac off Ebay in May, however the cracks are growing.

My question is can the front plastic of the Mac be replaced, and is it a hard job to do?

Hope you can help.

My MacBook has been sent back twice for this same problem. I asked the AppleCare associate if this was common and she stated that she really didn't know. Regardless I told them that if this is to happen again I wanted to request a different computer. I sent this computer in on October 17th and so far the cracks haven't come back so we'll see. My warranty expires in March so if it does it again I'm requesting a new computer. If they can't do that, I'd at least like an extended warranty on the computer itself.
