My gf has an upgrade available and she wants a 4S for Christmas AT&T and the Apple store that is near me is sold out of the 16gb 4S however best buy has a few available. Has anyone purchased their 4S at Best Buy if so. Was your experience ok?

What are you worried about? Knowing that would possibly help in calming your fears. The only downside of NOT buying from the Apple store, IMHO, is that you won't be able to return it at an Apple store except for warranty purposes. However, Best Buy is really good about allowing you to return things to any of their brick and mortar locations.

I bought mine on release date and I went @ 9:00 pm. It was crazy busy and they literally had 2 people handling customers. Their website said they were sold out of the 32 gb, but I figured I would give it a shot anyways. They told me they had a few 64's left, so I went with that. I waited a half hour after he grabbed my phone to finally make the transaction. I got cut in line like 4 times lol obviously your situation will not compare to this as it was launch when I grabbed mine. Get it from Best Buy for sure. Don't do the buy back option though, you'll get more on eBay if you take care of it and plan to sell down the road.

I've bought all my iPhones from Best Buy and never had an issue. I recently picked up the 64 GB 4s. The only issue is that they like to push the warranty, but a simple no thank you will suffice. An added benefit is if you're a silver premier member, you have up to 45 days to make a return.

Thank you everyone for your opinions and experiences. I've only ever purchased my iPhones from
AT&T or Apple. So I wasn't sure :-/

Just got back from best buy. The experience was real good. They did suggest the buy back program but I told them no. They offered her $180 for her great condition iPhone 4 but i told her she could get a lot more for it on eBay. I did however take their $14 a month insurance. It seemed like a good deal. :) The gf is happily syncing her new iPhone 4S. ?

I returned a MBP to Apple after purchasing it at Best Buy. It was past the 14 day period too ;)

Yes, I bought mine from BB without a hitch. They even gave me $190 for a Blackberry Bold 9650 I bought over a year ago, in not so great condition, and I paid only $99 for it at purchase time. Plus $50 off on a 32GB for selling the 16GB model I asked for them to hold.

Not sure why you bought the BB insurance. Just go and get AppleCare+ from Apple, you can do it as long as it's within 30 days of purchase.

Santa visited early! How nice! Enjoy!!

I thought you had to purchase Apple Care+ on the day of purchase. I didn't know they extended it.

Nope. Call 800-275-2273, setup a Apple Genius Bar appointment at your local Apple Store. Bring your phone + receipt. They have to inspect your phone at the store. $99+tax.

I would stick with the best buy insurance plan. The integrated battery swap option makes it totally worth it.

You get unlimited claims with the best buy insurance..not so with Apple Care..and Apple won't cover water damage I don't think

Over 2 years, you are paying $360 for the BB insurance, which is 3.6X the cost of AC+. I don't see the purpose in needing more than 2 ADH claims. If you need more than that, you seriously need to evaluate how you're handling your phone.

Apple Care is a lot more restrictive...but I totally agree. I have apple care on mine, but I have a friend that has the best buy care, and has used it once and loves the service

whats this, 2 or more exchanges and its suddenly the user's fault and not apple's? get real sonny. I had to do three exchanges within three weeks, two for a non-responsive home button and one for very crappy bluetooth and wifi signal, so that was my fault?

With the best buy plan, you get a new iphone for every exchange EVERYTIME, plus you get the new iPhone in an exchange when the 4s is no longer available. does Apple care do that?

I bought mine at BB with their insurance and then read about Applecare +
Went to apple the next day and bought the Applecare+ then went back to BB and had a return done on the geek squad black tie ins. $15 a month for two years is outrageous. Especially when my wife and I each bought one!
The apple rep also told me that after warranty replacement cost is $199 - why would you want to pay $360 for the BB insurance?

Apparently you have no idea what ADH is . Accidental Damage from Handling.
