Hi,

i downloaded and installed Lion and afterwards an error like this appeared:

Installation not complete.

Harddisk failure.

Couldnt repair the harddisk.

Thats it!

The iMac ist approx 2 years old and not in steady use.

I am planning to give Techtool Pro a try but i have to buy a firewire cable first.

Any other advice???

Did you try just to start it up?

You mean to do a fresh install?

No i havent tried this yet. I´d like to keep her data alive. But if there is no such option i will try to do a reinstall.

At the moment i am running the "Hardware Test", maybe it says something useful.

Its alive again!!

I have no clue what went wrong there.

I just repaired the rights on the harddisk with the drive utilities and that seemed to help!

Minutes ago the apple ago was flickering and switching with an error symbol and a questionmark and nothing worked but now it runs smoothly again. What the heck?

What about the backup? You did run a backup before you tried to upgrade didn't you?

Oh dear....
