Youtube videos aren't loading for me on Safari. It just brings up the page and the video doesn't load. Or sometimes it'll load like 5 seconds of it.

I've tried deleting and reinstalling Safari but it's the same. Repaired permissions, Clean my Mac, iDefrag to no avail.

Youtube works fine on FireFox.

Any ideas?

Yup reset Safari. And yes it does work in other browsers.

What's even stranger is that it works on embedded videos on forums, but not the website itself.

This started a couple of days after youtube got it's redesign.

Yeah tried that just now... didn't work. Any other suggestions? I might have to quit using Safari.. :(

10.7.2 Lion.

Could be, but that doesn't explain why FireFox lets me watch it no problem. Other websites like megavideo don't have a problem, but YouTube...

Thank you!!! :D:D

It turns out I was somehow joined to the HTML5 trials which was messing it up. So I left the trial and it's working fine now. Cheers! :D

Wow

Wow, that "YouTube HTML5 Video Player" fix worked for me too.

YOUTUBE has an idea... "Hey, let's sign a bunch of people up for this video player that doesn't work & then see what happens!" YOUTUBE staff..."Hmmm, that sounds like a great idea! People will have no clue we changed it & be completely confused when their players mess up!"

If you are having issues with youtube not playing through Safari, click the HTML 5 player link above and you're probably signed up for this junk.

Thanks APPLELIGHT!

This worked for me.

I had the same issue, turning toggling html5 on and off didnt help.

Reinstalling Safari didnt help either.

Resetting Safari didnt work either.

The only thing that worked was running 'Disk Utility' and I 'Repaired Disk Permissions'. That fixed the issue for me.

Hope that helps.
