Ideas for iPhone 3G?

Well, Christmas is over and my wife has her shiny new Iphone 4, so my old 3g she was using is relegated to the "spare". I bought the 3g new a couple of years back and then my wife used it after I upgraded to the 4. My daughter has a 3GS, so now my 8gb is in a drawer. So, what uses are there for it? I work for a French company, so there is opportunity to travel to France. Should I unlock it, get an international sim card? Use it as an extra iPod? Give me some good ideas (or bad) on what to use it for.

I've read that AT&T will not unlock it under any circumstances, so a jailbreak is in the future if I want to use it for overseas travel. I'm also thinking about using it as a Pandora/iHeart radio player with my Apple TV if I can use the Airplay. Does anyone know if the 3G iPhone is capable of this?
