My Mac takes a few solid minutes before it recognizes any keyboard or mouse input on startup. I can move the mouse reticle, but clicking has no effect. Typing provides no display, though my keyboards still recognize the pressing of the capslock button. I've tried multiple USB and bluetooth keyboards.
After a few minutes time, all of my actions are instantly recognized at once (ie, a long string of characters or multiple apps opening and closing)
I've tried reinstalling multiple times, both fresh and from backups, to the same effect. The isue has been consistent with both Snow Leopard and Lion backups. I've erased and zeroed out my HD multiple times.
On a side note, I can't select osx as my startup disk (I get the "bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk" message). I haven't partitioned any other OSs yet, but I'll try with them when I do.
The only possible causes I can think of are these: I edited my bootcamp info.plist to allow my computer to accept a windows 7 usb as a bootable device, and I used GParted to shrink my osx partition and increase my windows one. I feel that both of these should now have no effect, though, as I've erased and reinstalled so many times.
