For some reason my MAC iTunes crashes whenever I turn on match. I want to upgrade my library to all 256k versions. I gave up trying to make my Mac iTunes work and installed a Windows VM on my Mac and used the file locations on my Mac for this library. So both iTunes are pointed at the same set of files. I turned on match in Windows and deleted the local versions and downloaded the 256k versions into the same file structure.
The problem is my Mac iTunes thinks the file has been deleted even though it is still there with the same file name, just a newer version. Is there a way to rebuild my Mac library and get these back with out having to start over? I'd really hate to lose all my playlists.
Fortunately I only did this on a small group of files as a test.
EDIT
I know what is happening and am not sure what to do. iTunes in the Windows VM is deleting the local file, which is an mp3 and downloading an m4a. That is why my Mac iTunes can't find it - it doesn't know it was changed. Any ideas how I can upgrade my library and both see the changes?
