iTunes wont let me add new songs to the library.

As the title states, I cannot add music to my library on itunes and am in need of help. I have the newest version of itunes (10.5.2.11). I have tried adding files by going to File - Add File/Folder to library. Have tried dragging the file into itunes and have even tried playing the file through itunes but it will not add it to my library.

Anyone have any ideas?
