Handbreak: how to rip a complete DVD - not one episodes at a time

Hey,

Im new to my MacBook Pro as well as handbreak.

I would like to make a backup of my kids DVDs using handbreak.

The problem is some DVDs seems to be split up in episodes.

I would like to make a complete rip of the DVD eg as a image or mkv file - and not split the DVD up into peaces.

In my actual situation it will only take one title of 9min and there is 5 episodes on the dvd. I dont want to have 5 files. I would like to have one.

Am I missing a setting?

Pet peeve first: HandBrake, as in "brake", not "break".

If you use that tutorial, you can then use the combined .vob file in HandBrake and make one .mkv out of it.

Btw, Movist supports playback of properly titled episodes without opening them one after another.
Example: Episode you want to watch has name "seriesS19E39_TheEpisodeBefore.mkv" and open it in Movist, Movist automatically opens the next episode after the current episodes ends, if it is titled "seriesS19E40_AndNowForSomeThingsCompletelyTheSame.mkv".

VLC Player also supports playlists.

Well, to play the backup I use a HD Live box with an external HDand the kids can control it.

I will see the youtube movie...
 
This seems pretty advance to solve such simple job.

There must be a much simple solution?

I dont understand that it aint a native function in HandBrake....?
 
Seems like I can use the build in disktool to burn a image of the DVD in dmg format.

Maybe I can rename it to .iso or something and then use it.... I will report back!
