I think tommorrow will be a week since the infamous "jailbreak will be ready in about a week" post. That isn't a direct quote but that's basically what was tweeted. However, there has been more tweets saying they still need to find a exploitable hole they can make available to the masses. So make of that as you will.

That is probably why they said about a week, i guess we'll just have to wait... I'm just glad these guys do all the hard work for me as it would probably take me all year to get close to what they do then there would be a new iPhone out and i would have to start alll over again.

Lol idk about you, but it would take me a lot longer than a year. iPhone 9(5)Gs would be out before I jailbroke the 4S.

Yep. But I'm not the type to sit around and hope. The A4 5.0.1 redsn0w is great and will do for now.
Isn't that contradictory though? You're waiting until the 4S is jailbreakable, so you ARE "the type to sit around and hope."
Since you are on a device using the A4, redsn0w is indeed great for you. But the OP is asking about the iPhone 4s which runs under an A5.
For the OP and me (ipad2 = A5), redsn0w is of no use currently. The A5 device folks (except iPad2 4.3.3) have no choice but to sit around and hope because there's simply nothing that offers a "will do for now" approach.
If they are going to release, they'll probably wait for 5.1 to come out first, since it's already in beta (and so Apple wouldn't have that much time to patch it).
Oh please may we have 5 threads every day until the jailbreak is released asking this question?????????

Just stop... There are well over a few hundred tweaks that people use constantly while jail broken. My favorite is probably LockInfo. Apples notification center is a joke compared to this.
Also I love 5 icon dock, iblacklist, and many many more.
There's also countless threads talking about this. Read up to fight ignorance!
