Whilst I was trying to work on my MacBook pro today, after trying to switch off my airport my laptop froze completely for around an hour therefore I chose to switch it off by pressing the power button for 4-5 seconds. However, when I tried to switch it back on it got stuck at the startup screen with the apple logo and spinning wheel. I tried to do some of the tips given on other threads but non of them worked. My install CD does not want to work either... It keeps spinning and eventually just ejects.

I cannot currently attach pictures but if required I made some whilst my laptop is in Verbose mode. When it stops working it shows "BootCacheControl : could not write playlist"

Please advise because it is very important for me to urgently gain back at least the information on my laptop as my final exams are coming up and unfortunately I could no back up some of my data... It is terribly frustrating
