Stylish Backpack for DSLR and 13" Macbook Pro

You might try the small version of the Crumpler Karachi Outpost... designed for carrying (you guessed it) a DSLR, 2 lenses and a 13" Macbook. The opening works only from the back so you have to remove it to get to your gear - very helpful in busy urban areas, but not so helpful anywhere else. I use the older Crumpler Whickey and Cox which is similar to the medium version of the Karachi Outpost, and I find it to be both stylish and functional.

I also shoot with a Lowepro PhotoSport 200AW, which is great for hiking and all-around use. It is super comfortable even for all-day use. It has a side opening for your camera and two lenses (with one attached) so you don't have to remove the pack to get to your camera gear, and it has a front sleeve for your laptop or iPad. They don't advertise that it can hold a 13" Macbook but it will. The camera pouch is big enough to carry my T2i with 24-70L attached and 70-200 f/2.8L in the bottom slot. There's also a storage pouch on top which is roomy for a backpack of its size, and a sleeve for a hydration pack on the back. Lots and lots of features for the money.

Kind of pricey but as with everything else, we get what we pay for, right? I'm dreaming of the Union Street right now but the backpack is pretty sweet too.

I was hoping for something more stylish with better materials to last me a good amount of years! But I can only find that one option.

I like Incase bags but they don't have space for a DSLR.
I want it to fit a 13" macbook not 15.4 as it will move around too much.

I throw my 15 inch MBP and camera (Nikon D3S), and a few lens.

I used a LowePro Fastpack 350 before... and while i should do what you want, to be honest, I thought it was pretty uncomfortable. I ended up selling it.

I currently use a Lowepro Classified 160... it's nice but it won't hold a computer. Once you get to the size that includes a laptop, it becomes HUGE (so i didnt buy that model).

I've seen people convert Timbuk2 and Chrome bags into DSLR bags. I think they even sell little inserts for your camera. Maybe you could do something like that?

Though i have to say the Boa bag looks pretty nice...

Hey Luke, I have the Boa Xl and I put a Nikon D3S, and the lenses listed in my signature in that puppy. It is a proper camera bag though even though it may not look like one.

I know you don't really like Crumpler but I have had a larger Crumpler camera/laptop backpack for several years and it still looks like new even though i've been using it daily (and traveled to Japan twice, the UK twice and around the US) just about the entire time.

Very sorry to resurrect an old thread. This one came up at the top of my Google search and I was wondering how much, if anything, has changed in the stylish SLR-MacBook carrying offerings. I found this pack by booq and this one, but wondering if there's better out there. Almost everything looks like I'm running away from home.

I have a small booq toploader when I just need one camera. It's okay but not that good for the price.
For everyday I use my lowpro flip side 400. What I like about the lowpro website is the bag finder. You say what you want to carry and it narrows down your options.

I have a Sony backpack. Has room for a 15" laptop, body and several lenses. Movable walls so you can have different sized lenses. Also has a strap for tripod a a holder for a water bottle.
