This problem developed about 2 weeks ago where every now and then, the touchscreen would become completely unresponsive. All of the buttons will still work and the only way to get the touchscreen back to normality is by locking, then unlocking it. It seems very odd, I've restored on 4.2.1, downgraded to 3.1.3, restored so it's definitely not a software issue. But I'm wondering how it can be a hardware issue (because of the locking, the unlocking saga).

I'm really stuck on what to do here. I've already forked out 30 quid for a screen replacement recently and don't fancy forking out another 30 for another damn screen.

I was actually planning to trade it in for a 4th gen iPod Touch but in the condition it's in at the moment it's no good to no one.

Thanks for the help in advance guys
