Old burner finally gave out, looking at a Plextor PX-L871A - DVD±RW (±R DL) / DVD-RAM drive - IDE. Only shows pc support in technical info, but does it matter as long as it is ide. PPC G5 is ide support not sata.

I don't know about g5's but I have an ordinary pc burner (TDK 880N) in my g4.
I think I never burn anything, but it reads ok...
