unlocked iphone4 upgrade to ios5

I currently have an iphone4 4.0.1 with a 1.59.00 modem firmware being used with Tmobile. It is unlocked and jailbroken. I'd like to update to ios 5.
Is it possible to update withoul locking my phone again?
If not, what are all the necessary steps to update, unlock, jailbreak etc?

You will need to create a custom ipsw using redsnow.

Make sure you understand everything and you're comfortable with all the steps.
If you mess up and restore to official 5.0.1 your unlock is gone and there will be no way to use it on Tmobile.
After you create the custom 5.0.1 you will need to put your iphone in "pwned" DFU mode using redsnow again and restore to the custom 5.0.1 using itunes.
Then use redsnow again to JB the firmware and open cydia and install ultrasnow to unlock.

when I get to the itunes step and need to hold shift and restore a window pops up asking If i'm sure I want to restore my phone back to factory settings. I did not get a window to allow me to select anything from my pwnage folder.
Should this appear first?
is it the regular shift key on a mac?

For Macs hold down Option+Restore (click)
 
in mid restore I received an error message code (10) that my iphone cannot be restored. Its currently on the apple and half way progress bar.
I checked for that error code online and it is not one of the listed ones
Please help!
 
Please help

Got to the part where I know have to Jailbreak and after entering DFU mode it told me the build was not supported or something like that. I tried to select IPSW and click on the one from my pwnage folder but it did not work. Said IPSW is not supported by this version of Redsn0w.
I did exactly as instructed.

Please save my phone :(
 
After creating the custom firmware in PwnageTool/Redsn0w, you need to enter pwned dfu mode. Then restore in iTunes, then jailbreak/unlock.

I restored with itunes and now my phone is up and running but with no sim card bc it's a tmobile SIM and will not work.

Is there any other way to continue this process with another program?

I tried to jailbreak and install cydia twice and i get the error message on the computer saying "unrecognized build." and then there is a Fingerprint long code
